New Ulm Police
• Received a report of a two-vehicle crash without injuries at Center and Broadway at 1:24 p.m. Tuesday. A Mercury Milan driven by Thomas Benson, 19, Redwood Falls, was stopped at the stoplight, heading north on Broadway when he was rear-ended at a slow speed on ice by a Chevy Cruze driven by Nathan Puhlmann, 20, New Ulm. Damage was light to both vehicles.
• Received a scam/fraud report at 300 N. Broadway at 5:06 p.m. Monday. A resident said they received a phone call message from the U.S. Department of Treasury seeking Walgreen’s or Wal-Mart gift cards to pay for money to be sent to the resident, who gave them credit/debit card information. The resident said they would cancel their credit/debit cards and monitor their accounts.
• Arrested and transported a 47-year-old New Ulm man to jail for a blight ordinance violation on the 1300 block of S. Franklin St. at 5:56 p.m. Monday.
• Arrested and transported a 29-year-old New Ulm woman to jail for a misdemeanor traffic violation at 2406 N. Broadway at 6:26 p.m. Monday.
State Patrol
• Received a report of a two-vehicle crash with injuries on State Highway 60, Madelia Township, Watonwan County at 6:45 p.m. Monday. A 2016 Dodge Journey driven by Alan D. Knutson, 59, St. James, was westbound on Highway 60 when it collided with the rear of a 2012 John Deere tractor driven by Aaron D. Eberhart, 39, Madelia. Knutson wore a seat belt and was transported to Madelia Hospital with a non-life-threatening injury.
The Watonwan County Sheriff’s Office, Madelia Police, Fire and Ambulance assisted.
