State Patrol

• Received a two-vehicle crash report on snow and ice on northbound Highway 169 on the north end of St. Peter at 2:51 p.m. April 8. A 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by Laura S. Grabau, 18, St. Peter, was southbound on 169, spun out, and crossed the median when it collided with a 2008 Honda Civic driven by Tycen K. Rhodes, 23, New Hope, was northbound on 169, tried to brake but crashed into the driver’s side of the Grand Prix. Grabau was transported to Mayo Clinic Health Service, Rochester with life-threatening injuries. Rhodes and a passenger, Emily A. Cordova, 21, Mendota Heights, were transported to River’s Edge in St. Peter and Mayo Clinic Health System, Mankato with non-life-threatening injuries. All people wore seat belts. Alcohol was not involved. Assisting agencies included the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office, St. Peter Police, Fire and Ambulance, Kasota Fire and North Memorial Ambulance.

• Received a three-vehicle crash report on Highway 15 at 20th Street south of Brownton, Penn Township, McLeod County at 4:23 p.m. April 8. A 2000 Dodge Ram driven by Ethan A. Pomplun, 20, Gaylord, was southbound on Highway 15 when it lost control, crossed the center line and hit a 2018 GMC Sierra driven by Sara A. Sanchez, 43, Sleepy Eye; and a 2017 Chevy Silverado driven by Dylan Joseph Ostrue-Lanigan, 25, Eden Valley, both of which were northbound on Highway 15. Pomplun and Ostrue-Lanigan were transported to Hutchinson Area Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Silverado passengers Abbey M. Ostrue-Lanigan, 5, and Alyssa L. Ostrue-Lanigan, were transported to Minneapolis Children’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Everyone wore seat belts and alcohol was not involved.

New Ulm Police

• Reported a street light pole destroyed in the first block of North Broadway at 3:17 a.m. April 9. A 2001 Audi driven Brandon L. Paa, 25, New Ulm, was traveling north on Broadway, crossed Center Street, lost control on snow and hit a light pole on ice and snow-covered roads. Paa left the scene but contact was made later in the morning. The light pole was destroyed.

• Responded to an assault report at 227 1/2 Minnesota St. N. at 7:38 p.m. April 8. Nobody was arrested or hospitalized. A report will be sent to the New Ulm City Attorney’s Office for charge consideration.

• Responded to a call from the Washington Learning Center, 910 14th St. N. at 11:30 a.m. April 9. A report is not yet complete.

• Responded to juvenile trouble reports at the Riverbend Alternative Learning Center, 1315 S. Broadway, at 2:23 p.m. and 2:59 p.m. April 9. Reports are coming regarding tobacco possession and a behavior issue.

Sheriff

• Responded to a property damage report on Bowman Street in Stewart at 3:21 p.m. April 7. A vehicle tire was deflated.
