The Renville County Sheriff’s Office received a report at 8:53 a.m. March 13 of a one-vehicle crash which had led to an overturned semi-tractor and trailer in the ditch. The crash had occurred on County Road 6 near County Road 4, approximately 8 miles south of Renville, in Flora Township. The preliminary crash investigation revealed that a 2013 Peterbilt semi, driven by 56 -year-old Marvin Yackel of Royalton, was traveling south on County Road 6, when Yackel lost control of the semi on a curve. The tractor and trailer overturned on County Road 6 and slid into the ditch where they came to rest. Yackel sustained non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the crash and was transported to the Renville County Hospital by the Renville Ambulance Service. No other vehicles were involved in the crash. The State Patrol also assisted at the scene. The Renville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
New Ulm Police
An accident with an injury was reported at 2:52 p.m. March 13 at Oak Street and North Highland Avenue. Cynthia Schnobrich, 65, of New Ulm, was driving a 2005 Chevy Trail Blazer. Silvi Thiele, 19, of Sleepy Eye, was driving a 2003 Chevy Trail Blazer. Schnobrich entered the intersection traveling east on Oak Street. Schnobrich did not see Thiele who was traveling north on North Highland. Schnobrich reported injuries and was transported to the New Ulm Medical Center by Allina Ambulance. Her vehicle sustained moderate front-end damage. Thiele’s vehicle sustained moderate left-side damage.
