Worksite wellness networking, training event to focus on gratitude
NEW ULM — Thanksgiving is the time of year when we focus on giving thanks, with many of us sharing gratitude with friends and family. But when is the last time you thanked your employees? Your coworkers? Your boss?
New Ulm-area employers are invited to attend this networking and training event on Oct. 19 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Turner Hall to learn more about the many benefits of gratitude, and how keeping a focus on being thankful throughout the year can be a great tool for helping improve employees’ happiness, engagement and quality of life. Janice Beauduy, MD, MS, LP will share practical tips and tools for incorporating gratitude into all aspects of life. Participants should come prepared to brainstorm and share ideas on how they currently do, or can, focus on gratitude in their workplace.
These local worksite wellness events are planned and coordinated by four area organizations, including New Ulm Medical Center’s Occupational Health and Wellness Services; Hearts Beat Back: The Heart of New Ulm Project; New Ulm Area Chamber of Commerce; and Healthy Together, a partnership of Brown, Nicollet, Le Sueur and Waseca Counties funded by the Minnesota Statewide Health Improvement Program (SHIP). The events respond to a need identified through focus groups held in 2015, where worksite leaders expressed the desire for more opportunities to network and learn from one another, while discovering new knowledge and strategies for overcoming challenges and gaining traction with their worksite wellness programs
This event is free, but advance registration is required by Oct. 16 by emailing info@heartsbeatback.org. More details, visit http://tinyurl.com/NewUlmWellness
