NEW ULM — The Willkommen Committee recently met with Sara Wilfahrt, the new district manager for Junior Achievement (JA) of the New Ulm Area. JA strives to provide relevant, fundamental learning opportunities for students in grades K-12, preparing them for a lifetime of success. Sara works with all the area schools and coordinates community volunteers to teach the JA curriculum in the classroom. Born and raised in New Ulm, Sara and her husband lived in Mankato for many years and came back to their hometown when they started a family (they have four young children). She used to be full time at South Central College and is still teaching as an adjunct there, along with new part-time position at JA. JA is sustained through support from local businesses and community volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering for JA or learning more, contact Sara at 507-382-0605 or sara@jaum.org.
