Sticker shock

In case you have forgotten it is illegal and just plain wrong to give kids alcoholic drinks. Members of the Youth Council of Brown County spent the morning of June 3 putting stickers on 12-packs of beer and tags on liquor bottles to remind adults of this. It is the time of year when, with graduation, there are a lot of parties. If you provide for someone underage you are responsible for whatever harm they cause or whatever happens to them. The penalty is up to 366 days and a $3001 fine. Be responsible, don’t let kids get hurt. Liquor Mart, Cashwise Liquor, and Hy-Vee Liquor stores are in support of this project.

Mark Dick, President of the Lafayette Area Ambulance, stated “The cot can support 650 pounds and be loaded by one person into the back of the ambulance.” Pictured from left to right: Mark Dick, President of the Lafayette Area Ambulance, Kevin Yager, Sheri Portner, Lori Dick, Laura Isaacson, Nick Peterson and Robert Wise of Citizens Bank Minnesota, Lafayette Branch.
