Acting Workshops at State Street Theater

NEW ULM — The State Street Theater Co. and New Ulm Park & Rec are teaming up to bring two acting workshops to New Ulm on Saturday, Nov. 10, at the theatre. The instructor will be Luverne Seifert, a professor at the University of Minnesota College of Liberal Arts.

If you ever wanted to audition for a theater production and thought, “I wish I had more experience, “ then this workshop, “How to make strong acting choices and be dynamic on stage” is for you. The aim is to give confidence to those who have always wanted to give acting a try and to help those who wish to sharpen up their acting choices. This workshop will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.

Have you ever wondered what it’s like to do a monologue audition? Or maybe you’ve prepared one, but want to be better at it? Then the workshop, “Preparing for the Audition,” is the right choice for you. Participants will have a chance to work on their auditioning skills at the workshop. This workshop will also take place on Saturday, Nov. 10 from 1 to 3 p.m.

Or maybe you want to gain confidence in public presentations you are called upon to make. Then either workshop and the exercises learned can be of benefit to you. Whether on the stage at a theater or the stage of life, certain skill sets are universally helpful.

Seifert has performed on stage at the Guthrie Theater, Arizona Rep Theater, Ten Thousand Things Theater, and Gremlin Theater.

All ages are welcome, from tweens on up. Classes cost $25 per person per workshop and those interested can sign-up online at http://new-ulm.maxgalaxy.net/BrowseActivities.aspx For further information, contact statestreettheater@gmail.com or 507-359-9990.
