“Brown County Ballrooms” Open House

NEW ULM — The public is invited to visit the Brown County Historical Society Museum Annex at 2 North Broadway in New Ulm on Saturday, October 6 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The museum is currently exhibiting the “History of Brown County Ballrooms.” This exhibit illustrates the musical heritage of Brown County through county ballrooms, music and dance halls, and local bands.

Visitors can learn about the many historic ballrooms and dance halls throughout the entire county and see photographs and posters from their favorite local bands while enjoying the ambiance and music of the ballrooms of the past. Popcorn will also be available at the historic Popcorn Wagon from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

This exhibit, located in the annex, is free to the public. Regular admission will still be charged for the museum.

New Ulm Area Wedding Show

NEW ULM – The New Ulm Business & Retail Association will host the New Ulm Area Wedding Show this Sunday, Oct. 7. The show will be held at the New Ulm Civic Center, 1212 N Franklin Street, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. A Fashion Show will take place at 12:45 p.m. showing the latest trends in formal wear, and the grand prize will be given away at 2 p.m. Come see the variety of unique reception venues, florists, caterers, bridal shops and more for your one-of-a-kind wedding in Southern Minnesota.

The first 100 brides to register at the show on Sunday will receive a swag bag full of goodies, coupons, and much more. Green Mill of New Ulm will have food and beverages available for purchase. The Fashion Show at 12:45 p.m. will feature designer dresses and tuxes carried by these bridal shops: Ashlee Boutique & Bridal, Sisters Bridal & Tux, Valeries Bridal, Veiled by Sisters Bridal, and Infinity by Sisters Bridal. Brides are encouraged to stay after the Fashion Show for the Grand Prize Giveaway when $2,000 will be given away to one lucky bride. The prize money can be used at any of the Wedding Show exhibitors. Brides must be present to win.

The New Ulm Area Wedding Show is hosted for the fourth time by the New Ulm Business & Retail Association (NUBRA). This is the group that hosts the successful New Ulm Area Home & Health Show every spring.
