First Choice Pregnancy Services Fundraiser

NEW ULM — First Choice Pregnancy Services is holding a Fundraiser at McDonald’s in New Ulm on Wednesday, Feb. 14, from 4 to 7 p.m. During that time McDonald’s will donate a portion of the food sales to First Choice Pregnancy Services. First Choice volunteers will be on hand to describe their programs.

Early Childhood Screening

NEW ULM — Early Childhood Screening is scheduled for Wednesday, Feb 14 in District 88. Screening is available to any child who is between the ages of 3 years and Kindergarten.

During screening children will participate in an evaluation of speech, language, fine and gross motor skills, behavioral, social and emotional development, hearing and vision, height and weight measurement, immunization recording, and a parental question and answer period.

Screening is free of charge and is required entrance into Eagle’s Preschool, Headstart, and Kindergarten. Early Childhood Screening will be held at the Washington Learning Center, 910 14th Street North. Appointments will be 90 minutes long, and appointments are required. Daddy-Daughter Dance April 29

NEW ULM The Optimist Club and ECFE are hosting a Daddy-Daughter Dance from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, April 29 at the New Ulm Country Club. The afternoon will include dancing, refreshments, pictures of each couple, and lots of quality time with your daughter dressed like a princess! Admission is $15 per couple, with a $7 charge for each additional daughter.

This event is for girls ages 3 years to third grade. Grandfathers, uncles, stepfathers, big brothers, and other special men are invited to be escorts. Dads are encouraged to wear shirt/tie, sweater, sport coat, or suit. Each girl will receive a silk wrist corsage Each couple will receive a 5×7 photo, photography courtesy of Susan Loose

Tickets must be purchased in advance from the New Ulm ECFE Office. Space is limited. Tickets go on sale beginning Feb. 8.

Mom& Son Hoedown May 6

NEW ULM — The Optimist Club and ECFE are hosting a Mom & Son Hoedown from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, May 6 at the New Ulm Country Club. The afternoon will include dancing, refreshments, pictures of each couple, and lots of quality time with your son! Admission is $15 per couple, with a $7 charge for each additional son.

This event is for boys ages 3 years to third grade. Grandmothers, aunts, stepmothers, big sisters, and other special women are invited to be escorts. Dress is western wear (jeans, boots, hats, etc.) Each boy will receive a cowboy hat and bandanna

Organ Concert at St. John’s, New Ulm

NEW ULM — Organists Craig Hirschmann, Ronald Shilling, Adrian Smith, and Wayne Wagner will present a concert on Monday, Feb. 12, 6:30 p.m. at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 627 S. Washington St. The concert celebrates the 25th anniversary of the installation of the church’s pipe organ. The public is welcome to attend.

The four organists all play for services at St. John’s Lutheran. Hirschmann and Smith are current professors in the music division at Martin Luther College. Shilling and Wagner are MLC emeritus professors who now teach as adjunct organ instructors.
