CAST offers Fraud seminar

NEW ULM — Fraud happens daily and it seems that it is reported weekly to the NUPD. More often than anything else, it’s a money scam where good people send their hard-earned money at the request of someone they don’t know who claims they have won something.

“Hang Up on Fraud! – A Financial Fraud Prevention seminar for Older Adults and Their Caregivers” will be held Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. with facilitator Officer Eric Gramentz at the Community Center, 600 N. German Street, Room 112, New Ulm. Everyone is welcome to come and learn how to protect your financial information, protect yourself online, how to spot scams, and what to do if you’ve been a victim. A representative of the Hang Up on Fraud initiative from the MN Commerce Department will assist with the presentation. It will be hosted by Community and Seniors Together (CAST), in partnership with the New Ulm Police Department.
