Santa in Courtland
COURTLAND – The Courtland Lions Club will host “A Morning with Santa” from 9 to 11 a.m. this Saturday at the Courtland Community Center.
Enjoy a doughnut, hot chocolate, or milk with Santa, and take a photo with him.
Donate a food shelf item. Bring your used eyeglasses. Tell Santa your Christmas wishes! Take a horse drawn wagon ride. Receive a Goodie Bag (with or without peanuts). Register for prizes. (0-8 years of age). Drawing at 11 a.m.; must be present to win.
NEW ULM – Advanced piano students Hannah Cook and Alana Mittlestadt will be performing piano solos and duets at The Grand Center for Arts and Culture this coming Sunday, Dec. 4 at 2 p.m. as part of the Grand’s First Sundays series.
Hannah and Alana will play for about 45 minutes, featuring pieces from the best of literature written for piano. They are both students of Dr. Bethel Balge at Martin Luther College.
The performance will take place on the second floor of the GCAC building, where guests will also be able to view the current art exhibit “ArtScape” in the Four Pillars Gallery.
The recital is free and open to the public, however, donations for the performance are encouraged.
NEW ULM – New Ulm Area Catholic Schools will hold its Aluminum Can Collection & Scrip Sales on Saturday from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the St. Anthony Elementary parking lot.
Now accepting all metals. Examples include, but are not limited to: metal plumbing fixtures, piping, electrical, wiring, motors, copper, brass, aluminum, stainless steel, water heaters, stoves, washers, and dryers.
Items that cannot be accepted: refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, electronics (computers, monitors, microwaves, etc.).
