NEW ULM — Anthony Shore received his first Elvis record at age 3. He hasn’t been the same since.

Everyone was all shook up, experiencing “Elvis Forever” as internationally recognized and award-winning tribute artist Anthony Shore, his nine-piece band and backup vocalists performed at the State Street Theater Saturday night.

“I liked Elvis when I was a kid, growing up in London,” said Shore, who was born after Beatlemania.

As a child, he practiced his singing. At age 16, he performed as Elvis professionally, singing in Spain, Cyprus, France, Germany and London. Shore received many awards, performing in a variety of private, public and corporate settings.

Moving to the Twin Cities in 2011, Shore began dressing up like Elvis and won many contests including the Windy City Elvis Contest, Famous Dave’s Annual Elvis Contest in Minneapolis and other events in Wisconsin, Iowa, and Tennessee. He was the People’s Choice at the Elvis Explosion in La Crosse.

“Everybody loves Elvis. He’s very popular all over the world,” Shore said. “It’s fun.”

Very approachable, Shore’s stage demeanor is always respectful to Elvis, yet funny, charismatic and charming; always out to win the hearts of his audience.

“I consider it an honor to do what I do,” Shore said.

He’ll board a cruise ship in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. next week. He’s performed with “The Oak Ridge Boys” and the band “Alabama.” He’s performed a number of places in Switzerland. Some of his favorite spots include Waycross, Ga. and the Caribbean.

His favorite among the hundreds of songs did Elvis performed is “My Boy.”

Shore’s band includes vocalist Pat Curto of Royalton who has performed everywhere from obligatory bars and ballrooms to the deck of the USS Eisenhower, a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier.

Shore will perform Elvis in concert along with Pete Storm as Johnny Cash at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 14 at a masquerade dance theater at the Ames Center in Burnsville.
