NEW ULM — SSTC, the Optimist Club, and the Film Society are excited to announce a special family friendly movie night featuring the 1992 classic, “The Muppet Christmas Carol” at State Street Theater Co. on Friday, December 21 starting at 6:30 pm.

“The Muppet Christmas Carol” is a musical adapted from Charles Dickens’s 1843 novella “A Christmas Carol.” A Christmas Carol recounts the story of Ebenezer Scrooge, an elderly miser who is visited by the ghost of his former business partner, Jacob Marley, and the spirits of Christmas Past, Present and Yet to Come. After their visits, Scrooge is transformed into a kinder, gentler man. “The Muppet Christmas Carol” takes some ‘artistic license’ in its adaptation, but for the most part sticks with the original story. “The Muppet Christmas Carol” is considered a heartwarming and hilarious holiday classic.
