Local fire believed to be arson

The fire was reported approximately 6:42 p.m. Friday at 17048 CR 29, in the Milford Township. The fire was located in a vacant farm house across from the Americold cold storage facility. While the New Ulm Fire Department extinguished the fire, traffic headed out of New Ulm on CR 29 was directed away. The fire is being investigated by Minnesota State Fire Marshall’s Office, New Ulm Fire Department and the Brown County Sheriff’s Office. Anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area is urged to call the Brown County Sheriff’s Office at 507-233-6720. Anyone with information may also contact the Brown County Sheriff’s Office through the tip line, or email tipsline@co.brown.mn.us.
