Foundation announces fall grants

NEW ULM — The New Ulm Area Foundation recently held a reception for the 2018 Fall Grant recipients. $20,575 were given in grants for this fall cycle. Awarded from the NUVERA and Somsen Endowment Funds was a grant to the Concord Singers for $2,375 to fund the preservation and retention of the extensive musical collection of regional significance. From the New Ulm Area Foundation Endowment Fund the following grants were awarded: $2,375 to the Brown County Non-profit Consortium to improve the quality of leadership serving non-profit organizations in Brown County, $3,000 to Bavarian Blast 2019 for the continuance of the largest ethnic music festival in New Ulm, $3,000 to Junior Achievement to fund the attendance of 6th graders to the 2018-2019 Junior Achievement BizTown, $700 to The Grand Center for the Arts for the expansion of youth art programs, and $10,000 to the Brown County Historical Society for partial funding for “Early Brown County Exhibit.

For over 30 years the New Ulm Area Foundation has been raising endowment funds that will continue to enhance the New Ulm community into perpetuity. During this time, NIUAF has awarded over $600,000 in grants in the areas of the arts, education, economic development and historic preservation.
