Highway construction workers began laying pre-stressed concrete I beams as part of the new Front Street bridge at 5 a.m. Friday. By 10:30 a.m., four of eight 119,000-pound, 145-feet long beams were laid in the two-year, New Ulm Gateway Project that includes decorative brick, stone and concrete.
