Cottonwood River forecast to reach 15.5 feet

NEW ULM — The National Weather Service (NWS) issued a flood warning for the Cottonwood River at New Ulm affecting Brown County at 9:43 a.m. Friday.

The river was measured at 12.6 feet at 9 a.m. Friday. Flood stage is 11.0 feet. The river will continue to rise to near 15.5 feet by Saturday night and fall below flood stage by the evening of Wednesday, June 27.

A flood warning continues for the Minnesota River at Mankato affecting Blue Earth and Nicollet Counties, the Minnesota River at Henderson and State Highway 19, affecting Le Sueur, Scott and Sibley counties and the Redwood River near Redwood Falls affecting Redwood County.
