CASTLE winter term begins

NEW ULM — To start the Winter term of lifelong learning, CASTLE, Community And Seniors Together Learning Environment, will host a class on Antarctica, Tuesdays, Jan. 16, 23 and 30 from 1:30 pm to 3 p.m. at the New Ulm Community Center, 600 N German Street, New Ulm. Members are encouraged to bring a friend and introduce them to CASTLE. It’s all about learning for the joy of learning.

Martin Sponholz, retired professor from MLC, has incredible expertise on Antarctica and its environment. This will be a fascinating look into the exploration of the continent, from Captain Cook and the seal hunters to Admiral Byrd and the Plateau Station of today.

New CASTLE members are welcome at any time of the year. Members’ $100 annual fee will have a renewal date one year from their initial date of payment. Members may attend any and all classes and events throughout the year at no additional charge. Potential new members are welcome to attend one class before joining. More information can be found at
