Brain Injury Task Force plans event

NEW ULM — The Minnesota Brain Injury Force (MNBIF) is providing a free brain expo on Monday, Sept. 11, 4 – 8 p.m. at Jakes Stadium Pizza in Mankato.

At 4 p.m. Director Sharon Gieseke will speak on “You received a Brain Injury: What Now?”

At 5 p.m. Margot Imdieke Cross, accessibility specialist at the Minnesota State Council on Disability, will speak on emergency preparedness for people with disabilities and other disability issues.

At 6 p.m., learn a few brain foods survivors eat; Gieseke will share recipes.

Brain injury survivors from Mankato, Hutchinson, New Ulm, Sleepy Eye, Fairfax, Wells and other areas will share artwork, talents and stories of courage. Two area survivors will hold a silent auction to raise funds for the MNBIF giving program to help their fellow survivors.

Special recognition and awards will be given to the 2017 MNBIF volunteers.
