This is Santa Claus’ busy time of year, getting ready for his big world-wide trip on Dec. 24. Fortunately, he has plenty of helpers ready to fill in for personal appearances that kids and parents love, to listen to kids’ Christmas wishes and pass them along to the head man.

Saturday two helpers assisted Santa — Mark Bleckstad at South Point Financial Credit Union, and Gary Reeman, who greeted good dogs at the Happy Tails fundraiser for the New Ulm Dog Park at Runnings.

Santa will be back in town today for breakfast with the Sertoma Club at Holy Trinity Cathedral, starting at 8:30 a.m., and skaing with kids at the New Ulm Civic Center from 1 to 4 p.m.
