WARNING: Garlic Mustard has arrived in the city of New Ulm both in city parks and private land. Garlic mustard can take over an entire forest floor in a few years because of the volume of seeds it produces. Brochures are available in the lobby at the Recreation Center and website that have illustrations with simple instructions on how to get rid of it. The worst known infestation in New Ulm is in Adams Park. Flandrau Park is also full of it. When you are on hike or looking for morels, bring a bag for trash and pull any garlic mustard plant you see and place in the bag. You can make a big difference. For a personal tour to show you what garlic mustard looks like and instructions on how to control it, call Joe Gartner at 507-276-8326.
