Arts grants awarded

NEW?ULM – Two New Ulm organizations have received arts grants from the Prairie Lakes Regional Arts Council.

New Ulm Suzuki School of Music received $8,000. The funds will be used to hire orchestra clinicians for the annual Summer Pops Camp and will pay a portion of the director’s salary for its season of rehearsals and concerts in 2016.

The Grand Center for Arts & Culture received $8,000. The funds will be used to continue the 2016 performing arts series that features Minnesota artists presenting a variety of music genres each weekend and small theater productions. The Grand will also display art exhibitions in its 4 Pillars Gallery.

The New Ulm grants are part of $105,550 from the Arts and Culture Heritage Fund that were warded to 18 arts organizations, community groups and schools in the region.
