NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

on

PROPOSED PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT AND BUSINESS SUBSIDY

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, that the City Council of the City of New Ulm, Brown County, Minnesota, will conduct a Public Hearing on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 4:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers located in the New Ulm City Hall, 100 North Broadway, New Ulm, Minnesota, relating to the use of property tax abatement and the approval of a business subsidy agreement for the purpose of funding development costs for the DLC Manufacturing and Fabrication, Inc. project, pursuant to Minnesota Statutes, Section 469.1813 to 469.1815, inclusive, as amended, and Minnesota Statutes, Section 116J.993 to 116J.995. The project will produce two new jobs.

The annual amount of tax abatement shall not exceed $21,600 per year and will be provided over a period of up to 20 years commencing in the year 2021. The following tax parcel is proposed to be included in the property tax abatement area:

The proposed property tax abatement project has a street address of 24 Somsen Street and is legally described as Lot 6, Block 3, Airport Industrial Park.

Copies of the Abatement Resolution and Business Subsidy Agreement proposed for adoption will be on file and available for public inspection at the Office of the City Manager in the New Ulm City Hall.

A person with residence in, or the owner of taxable property in the City of New Ulm may file a written complaint with the City, if the City fails to comply with Sections 116J.993 to 116J.995 of Minnesota Statutes, and no action may be filed against the City for the failure to comply unless a written complaint is filed.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

Notice is hereby given that on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 4:30 PM in the City Council Chambers in the New Ulm City Hall, 100 North Broadway, New Ulm, Minnesota the City Council of the City of New Ulm, Minnesota will hold a public hearing concerning the submittal of an application to the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development for a grant under the Minnesota Investment Fund (MIF) program.

The City of New Ulm is requesting approximately $325,000 to assist with the expansion of Windings, Inc. The funds will be used for the creation of jobs.

All interested parties are invited to attend the public hearing at which time you will be given the opportunity to express comments on the project.

Written testimony will also be accepted at the public hearing. Written comments must be received by noon, Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at the City Manager’s Office in the New Ulm City Hall, 100 North Broadway, New Ulm, Minnesota. Specific questions can be directed to Chris Dalton at 507-233-2112.
