Bids

Sealed bids may be

delivered to the Office

of the Finance Director,

Municipal Building, lo-

cated at 100 North

Broadway, New Ulm,

Minnesota 56073 prior

to the 11:00 a.m. bid

opening on TUES-

DAY, the 29th day of

March, 2016. The

City’s Finance Director

or staff will publicly

open and read aloud

all bids received for the

following project:

POURED-IN-PLACE

PLAYGROUND SUR-

FACING – HERMANN

HEIGHTS PARK

The work includes but

is not limited to the in-

stallation of aggregate

base and Poured-in

Place (PIP) playground

safety surfacing.

All Bids must be

sealed and marked,

“PROPOSAL FOR

HERMANN PARK

SURFACING” and

each and every propo-

sal must be accom-

panied by a certified

check or bind bond for

at least five percent

(5%) of the amount of

the bid proposal, pay-

able to the City of New

Ulm, to be forfeited as

liquidated damages, in

case the successful

bidder fails to enter into

contract and to furnish

satisfactory bond

within 5 days after ac-

ceptance of such bid.

The bid will remain

subject to acceptance

for 45 days after the

day of bid opening.

The City reserves the

right to reject any and

all bids.

The plans and specifi-

cations prepared by

the City of New Ulm

are on file and may be

examined at the Park

and Recreation Office.

com. An optional paper

set of the plans and

specifications may be

obtained at the Office

New Ulm, Minnesota

Project bid to include:

a. ADD ALTERNATE

BID: Vendor to provide

labor and equipment

for installation and

compaction of an es-

timated 335 tons of re-

cycled concrete base

(recycled concrete

base to be provided

and delivered to the

site by the City). Base

material shall be a

minimum of 6″ deep.

Contractor shall install

aggregate base in 3″

lifts and material shall

be compacted utilizing

a ride on vibratory

compactor. Desired ag-

gregate work to take

place April 18-21,

2016, providing weath-

er and site conditions

are conducive. Base

work shall be 100%

complete by April 22,

2016.

b. BASE BID: Vendor

to provide oversight of

concrete base instal-

lation (to confirm re-

quired elevations) and

provide materials, labor

and equipment for in-

stallation of playground

safety surfacing

(Poured-In-Place) for

the attached play-

ground equipment and

container design.

Desired

poured-in-place work

to take place the first

two weeks in May, pro-

viding weather condi-

tions are conducive for

pouring/curing. Safety

surface installation

shall be 100% com-

plete by May 20,

2016.

c. Equipment and ma-

terial must meet all ex-

pectation, standards

and requirements as

stated in the current

CPSC, Standard for

Surfacing Impact At-

tenuation (ASTM 1292)

and Surfacing Accessi-

bility (ASTM 1951),

ADA requirements and

be IPEMA Certified.
