• Anthony N. Geisler, 30, 1006 1/2 Center St., New Ulm, was convicted of felony fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle and gross misdemeanor DWI-body contains any amount of Schedule I/II drugs Dec. 5. Charges of felony fifth-degree drug possession-not small amount of marijuana, misdemeanor driving after revocation, careless driving, speeding 106/55, gross misdemeanor and misdemeanor DWI-body contains any amount Schedule I/II drugs-not marijuana were dismissed. He was committed to the St. Cloud Correctional Facility for 22 months. He was fined $2,561.86 including $2,401.86 restitution.
According to court documents, the Brown County Sheriff’s Office responded to a one-vehicle, injury crash at the intersection of Highway 4 and CR 29 last April. Deputies tried to stop Geisler for displaying an illegal, rear, white light. Geisler’s vehicle, a 2001 Ford Taurus crashed into a Brown County REA pole near the intersection and was demolished. Law enforcement reported pursuit speeds of up to 109 mph.
Geisler was transported to the Sleepy Eye Medical Center, then to Hennepin County Medical Center by North Memorial Ambulance. Sleepy Eye Police and Sleepy Eye Ambulance assisted.
