• David A. Arizmendi, 45, 25 5th St. N.W., Madelia, was charged with gross misdemeanor driving after cancellation-inimical to public safety Dec. 1. According to court documents, Sleepy Eye Police were working the 5 p.m. to 3 a.m. shift on Nov. 1 when they checked the plate of a Mitsubishi Eclipse. It showed Arizmendi was the registered vehicle owner and his driving status was cancelled inimical to public safety (IPS).
Police stopped the vehicle on Highway 4 near 200th Street and identified the driver as Arizmendi who said he had a limited license for work and had ignition interlock installed on the car. Police told him his license was cancelled IPS in September for failure to pay license reinstatement fees and he had received a citation for driving after withdrawal in October.
