Harman Park Warming House is closed for the season, due to the higher temps. Rinks are unable to be maintained.

Easter Ceramics will be offered March 6 and 8 from 4:30-5:30 p.m. at the Community Center Pottery Room. Participants ages 6 and up can clean ceramic pieces and glaze in time for holiday decorating! Register online or at the Rec. Center. Fee is $16/Residents or $17.60/Non-residents.

Lifeguard Training offered March 8 and 9 from 4-9 p.m. and March 10 from 2-9 p.m. This blended learning class requires 5 to 7 hours of online work be completed before start of class. Participants must be 15 years old by the last class date and pass a pre-course physical fitness test consisting of 6 laps (300 yds) using front crawl and breast stroke, tread water for 2 minutes with no hands and be able to retrieve a 10-pound brick from 7 to 10 feet of water, swim 20 yards back to side of pool, get out without using a ladder or stairs within 1 minute and 40 seconds. Teen Day of Play Saturday, March 10 from 6-9 p.m. at the Rec. Center. This FREE event is open to those age 12-18 and will include a variety of fun activities at the Rec Center, including Laser Tag and other gym and pool activities.

Fitness Fun Day will take place Friday, March 23 from 6-9 p.m. FREE use of the Rec Center Gym, Walking Track, Racquetball Courts and Indoor Pool! This event is co-sponsored by Allina Health/New Ulm Medical Center and Physicians Group of New Ulm.

Open Pickleball Saturdays through March from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.

Short Track Tuesdays and Saturdays – There will be a “short track only” on Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m. and Saturdays from 8-10 a.m. from now through March.

Co-Rec Adult Softball and Volleyball Leagues – It’s not too early to think about forming you teams now! These recreational leagues will start in May. Turn in rosters and registration fees to Joey Schugel, Program Supervisor. If you have questions, he can be reached at JoeyS@newulmmn.gov or 359-8343.

Winter/Spring Activities Registration currently taking place online or at the Rec Center.

Summer Programs are currently being planned. The activities guide will be distributed in The Journal on Sunday, April 1, the Shopper on April 3 and registration will open April 9.

Weight Loss Challenge is winding down. There is still a week left to get a participation ticket or two and get those last-minute workouts in. The final Weigh-Out will be Monday, March 12 with times all day for Individuals and Teams. Exact times will be posted and communicated this week. Please be sure to weigh-in during the posted times. Archery Instructors are needed to teach Youth and Adult Classes this Spring. If you have an Archery Instructor certification or experience with archery and teaching youth, please call 507-359-8343 to learn more about opportunities available with Park and Rec.
