Hermann Swim Club starts Jan. 30 and runs through March 22. Club open to ages 8-17 will focus on training swimmers to improve strokes, build muscle, speed, strength and endurance in a fun and safe environment. Participants must have passed Level 4 swim lessons and be at least 8 years old. Swim Club runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30-5 p.m. Pre-registration is required.

Wellness Walking – Arthritis Foundation’s 6-week Walk with Ease program can teach you how to safely make physical activity part of your everyday life! This program provides a space for group walking and a short stretch session with Wellness Tips and Information. Studies show that walking can reduce the pain and discomfort of arthritis, increase balance, strength and walking pace, build confidence in your ability to be physically active and improve overall health. The program is offered FREE to members on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:30-11:30 a.m. at the Rec Center through Feb. 22. Non-members may purchase a 12-walk punch card for $20.25.

Valentine Craft offered Jan. 31 from 5:30-7 p.m. at the Community Center for those ages 6 and up.  Construct and paint a Heart Wall Plaque, just in time for Valentine’s Day!  Cost is $12 Res./$13.20 Non-Resident which includes all materials and supplies.  Register online at www.ci.new-ulm.mn.us

Harman Park Ice Rinks and Warming House are currently closed due to warm temperatures.  If temps drop as expected, we hope to re-open this week.  Call 507-354-9041 or check our Facebook page for the latest updates.  Regular hours are Monday thru Thursday 5-8 p.m., Friday 5-9 p.m., Saturday 1-9 p.m. and Sunday 1-5 p.m. When all three schools are out, hours are 1-8 p.m. Rinks will close on extremely cold days when outdoor recreation is dangerous or extremely warm days when the ice turns to water. Rink lights are controlled by a knob on the light pole closest to the shelter. It is operable between 4:30-11 p.m. daily. Lights will turn off at 11 p.m. automatically. A limited number of rental skates available for $2.25 per pair. We offer coffee and hot chocolate for a fee during warming house hours.

Tot Swim Fridays from 9:30-11 a.m. on Feb. 2, 16, March 2, 16, April 6, 20, May 4,18. Shallow pool open for tots to splash and use the tot slide. Children must be within arm’s reach of an adult at all times. Whirlpool closed during tot swim. Admission $2.50 per tot/adult free

Snow Day in the Park Saturday, Feb. 10. Families can enjoy ice skating, visit and activities with the Narren, and more. Bring your own skates or rent ours for $2.25. Optional $5 for s’mores over a fire, cider and horse drawn carriage/sleigh ride. In case of inclement weather, this event may be postponed or cancelled.

Weight Lifting for Women is designed to familiarize women with our Fitness Center’s equipment/ machines. It provides skills needed to plan your own weight room workouts for those who would like guidance, but not the commitment of a private trainer. BUST out of those weight room barriers and work out with our Certified Personal Trainer to get the tools needed further to enhance your fitness goals! The next session starts Feb. 19. Winter Day of Play Feb. 19 from 12-4 p.m. at the Rec Center. Inflatables and gym activities from 12-3 p.m. and special swim from 12-4 p.m. This program is offered FREE, thanks to the generous donations from our Day of Play Sponsors. Please support and thank them!

Winter/Spring Activities Registration currently taking place online or at the Rec Center.

Open Pickleball Saturdays through March from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Please note: there will NOT be pickleball Feb. 10 or 17 because of scheduled basketball tournaments.

Short Track Tuesdays and Saturdays: There will be a “short track only” on Tuesdays from 7-9 p.m. and Saturdays from 8-10 a.m. from now through March.
