The University of South Dakota announced its Academic Honors and Dean’s List to recognize 2,300 students for their high achievement during the Spring 2017 semester.

Full-time, undergraduate students are named to the Dean’s List if they received a 3.5 GPA for courses they took in the Spring 2017 semester and had no incomplete or failing grades. For part-time students, those with fewer than 12 credit hours, the recognition is called Academic Honors.

Central Lakes College, Brainerd and Staples, has announced its 2017 spring semester honors list.

The President’s List includes 206 students who earned a grade-point average of 3.75 to 4.0 while enrolled for at least 12 credits.

The Dean’s List includes 240 students who earned a grade-point average of 3.25 to 3.74.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison has recognized students named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester of the 2016-2017 academic year.

Emily Ochs, of Franklin, was named to Buena Vista University’s (BVU) Dean’s List for terms three and four. Students named to the Dean’s List must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5 for the two terms, based on a 4.0 grade point system, and must have taken at least 12 hours of coursework.

The University of Minnesota, Morris announces that Nicole Palmer of New Ulm is a recipient of the Outstanding Graduate In Psychology Award and Honors Program from Morris.

The Outstanding Graduate in Psychology Award is given annually to seniors graduating with psychology majors. Recipients who receive this award have excelled in the following areas: scholarship, research experience, and participation in the psychology discipline. Seniors graduating with honors must complete 12 credits in the Honors program, including an interdisciplinary capstone project presented before a panel of three faculty members fr om different academic disciplines. They must also earn an overall grade point average of 3.5 or higher at graduation. They wear Honors medallions in recognition of their extraordinary liberal arts accomplishment.

The following area students have been named to the University of Minnesota, Morris Dean’s List for the Spring 2017 semester. To be eligible for the Dean’s List students must achieve a grade point average of 3.66 or higher while taking 12 or more credits, with two-thirds of these credits on the A-F grading system.

The following area residents graduated from the University of Minnesota, Morris:

Marisa Kroells, Arlington, received a bachelor of arts degree in liberal arts for the human services

Hannah Innvaer, Courtland, received a bachelor of arts degree in English: creative writing with high distinction

Evan Guffey, Nicollet, received a bachelor of arts degree in sport management

Kristen Kokesch, a senior at Bethel University in St. Paul, has been named to the Dean’s List for academic excellence for the spring 2017 semester. She is the Daughter of Dennis and Pam Kokesch of Winthrop.

The Dean’s List honors students who achieve an outstanding scholastic record during a semester with a grade point average of 3.6 or greater.

Elizabeth Loetscher, daughter of Mary and Christopher Loetscher of New Ulm, has been named to the dean’s list of Macalester College in St. Paul for academic achievement during the spring semester of the 2016-2017 school year.

A graduate of Cathedral High School, Loetscher was a sophomore at Macalester last spring.

Wheaton College student Danae Witte of Nicollet was named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2017 semester.

To earn Dean’s List honors at Wheaton, an undergraduate student must carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on the 4.0 scale.

Makenna Kluis is the recipient of an Excellence Schlolarship to attend Concordia College, Moorhead, Minn. Kluis, a graduate of New Ulm Sr High School, is the daughter of Kevin and Renee Kluis, New Ulm, Minn.

Joseph W. Krambeer of Sleepy Eye, graduated from the University of St. Thomas with a BA, Computer Science, Magna Cum Laude in spring 2017.

Sara Biedenbender of New Ulm, who is pursuing a BFA degree in interior design, received the University of Wisconsin-Stout Chancellor’s Award for the spring 2017 semester.

The award is presented to students who have a grade point average of 3.5 or above.

Augustana University in Sioux Falls, South Dakota has announced the students named to the Dean’s List for the spring semester of the 2016-17 academic year.
