Brown County Dairy Royalty named

NEW ULM — Isabella Portner, daughter of Tom and Mary Portner of rural Sleepy Eye, and Natalie Sellner, daughter of Dean and Karen Sellner of rural Sleepy Eye, were crowned Brown County Dairy Princesses Saturday, Jan. 28. In addition, Crystal Portner, daughter of Tom and Mary Portner, was named a county dairy ambassador at the annual meeting and dairy princess banquet.

The three will promote dairy products at parades, grocery stores, and schools during the next year.

The Brown County coronation and meeting was held in conjunction with Nicollet County and was held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church’s fellowship hall.

Jody Jetson of the Midwest Dairy Association and Paul Fritsche, a member of the Midwest Dairy Promotion Council, reported on state activities that promote increased dairy consumption.
