Arctic Plunge

New Ulm’.s Arctic Plunge gratefully acknowledges the support of the community, all who jumped, our sponsors, and the City of New Ulm in helping to make the Inaugural New Ulm Arctic Plunge a great success. Because of everyone’s efforts, $10,000 is being donated back into the community. The following organizations are receiving proceeds from the event:

1) New Ulm Fire Department – $5,000. Proceeds to be used to fund future equipment needs.

2) Brown County Humane Society – $3,500. Proceeds to be used to fund repairs and room upgrades.

3) Community Against Domestic Abuse (CADA) – $1,000.

4) New Ulm Food Shelf – $500.

We would like to recognize our sponsors who helped make this event possible: North Lake Beer, The Lamplighter, D&A Trucking, America Midwest Transportation, Printwear Graphics, Alliance Bank, KNUJ, FurthMeile, Paul’s Electric, MonaLena Kitchen & Bar, Schell’s, The Journal, Nuvera, and River Valley Sanitation.

Lions say “Thank You” to Waffle Brunch Patrons

The Lions Club of New Ulm would like to say “Thank You” to everyone who came out on very cold morning and supported us at our Dad’s Belgian Waffle Brunch fundraiser on Sunday, March 3. We would also like to thank the following for their support:

New Ulm Chamber of Commerce, Sid’s Signs on Broadway, Cash Wise Foods, Hy-Vee Food Stores, KNUJ Radio, Shopper / Post Review, The Journal,Turner Hall, McDonald’s Restaurant, Craig Dale

We served over 500 waffle breakfasts and had a great time doing it. It is through projects like this, that the Lions Club of New Ulm is able to help the Sight, Hearing, and Diabetes impaired and other people in need.
