AMES, Iowa — At Iowa State University’s fall commencement ceremonies Dec. 15-16, 2017, 2,286 graduates received degrees. Iowa State awarded 1,887 undergraduate degrees.

Cassandra Kretsch has been named to the Dean’s List for Fall Semester at University of South Dakota. She is a Freshman there.

South Dakota State University senior Russ Hoffman is receiving the Jerome Norgren Soil Conservation Scholarship and Research Award and the Richard L. Elliott Scholarship in Plant Science this academic year.

Hoffman, son of Steve and Kerry Hoffman of New Ulm, is a 2014 New Ulm Cathedral High School graduate. A member of the Agronomy Club and the Soil Judging Team, he is majoring in agronomy.

Victoria Quesenberry of Springfield, recently graduated from Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) at the end of Fall Semester 2017. Quesenberry received AS for Nursing.

Amber Eischen of Comfrey and Julia Beckius of Hanska have been named to the Iowa Lakes Community College Deans List. Fall semester students who have achieved a 3.25 grade point average or better are recognized by inclusion on the Dean’s list.

Students named to the fall semester 2017 Deans List were recently announced by the Office of the Registrar at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. To qualify for a place on the Deans List, students must complete 12 or more letter-graded credits while attaining a 3.66 grade point average.

Students on the Deans List include:

Payton Vold, Criminal Justice student from Lamberton.

St. Cloud Technical & Community College congratulates the following students for their academic achievement Fall 2017. They have earned recognition on the President’s List for a grade point average of 4.0 or the Dean’s list for a grade point average of 3.5 to 3.9.

Alexus Kreft of Arlington has been named to the President’s List at Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. This academic honor is achieved by earning a perfect 4.0 grade-point average during the Fall 2017 semester.

The College of St. Scholastica, Duluth, has announced its list of conferred graduates for Fall 2017.

The following local students graduated from St. Scholastica:

Samantha Riser of New Ulm, Riser graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Scott Konz of New Ulm, Konz graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Erin Pauly of Arlington, Pauly graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

In Storm Lake, Iowan, Nine Buena Vista University (BVU) business students and nine science students, including Tonia Henning of New Ulm, have been selected for the Clifford A. Rae Academic Achievement Award for the 2017 calendar year. Henning is a sophomore majoring in biology.

The awards, which range up to $5,000, were created by two separate $750,000 endowments from the foundations established by Dr. Harold Walter Siebens and named after the long-time advisor and counsel to Siebens and the foundations. The endowments support annual awards for up to three pre-qualified, academically high-performing BVU business and science students in each of the second, third and fourth years of school.

Local student named to Fall 2017 Dean’s List at Bemidji State University

To be eligible for the Dean’s List, BSU students must be enrolled for at least 12 credits and earn a 3.5 GPA during the semester. A total of 1,123 students earned Fall 2017 Dean’s List honors from the university.

MEQUON, Wis. — Concordia University officials have released the Fall Honors List for the 2017-2018 academic year. To be eligible for the honor, students must achieve a minimum 3.50 GPA.
