Thanks from State Street Theater

This past week, the New Ulm Area Foundation made a commitment pledge of $50,000 to the State Street Theater Capital Campaign. This brought the campaign total of gifts and pledges to just over $250,000. That is one-half way to attaining its $500,000 goal of funds to be raised from the New Ulm community for the first phase of necessary improvements to the historic theater. It hopes to raise an additional $250,000 from Legacy and other grants for a total fund-raising effort of $750,000. Funds raised will especially go toward separation of utilities from the classroom portion of the site, and soft costs related to that and roof repairs, seating, and other matters in the process of being prioritized by architects and engineers at this time. The Capital Campaign Cabinet thanks all of its donors/pledgors thus far, but especially expresses appreciation to its Cornerstone pledge/donors at $25,000 of Mickelson Family Foundation, Bank Midwest, the Bobbi McCrea family, Roger and Carol Ryberg, and KaeLynn Haas; a Major gift of $15,000 from New Ulm Telecom; and Leadership Level gifts of $5,000 or more from Hobart and Charlotte Anderson, Andy and Anne Biebl, Design Home Center and Larry & Anne Earl. As it enters into the design phase of improvements in early 2018, the theater will immediately experience soft costs, so knowing funds will be available to address expenses as they occur is of great help in budgeting. Once again, thank you. Should you wish to help in raising the remaining $250,000, just send your check payable to State Street Theater, Capital Campaign, PO Box 493, New Ulm, MN 56073, or for details, contact Mary Ellen Domeier, 507-276-7890.

Crisis Nursery thanks donors

The Southern Minnesota Crisis Nursery would like to say a heartfelt thank you to all the businesses and individuals for their donations of services, money, expertise, products, and time over the last two years. Words alone cannot express the gratitude we feel to all of you. It is humbling to be a part of an amazing project with such strong community support. It makes the goal, of protecting and cherishing children when adults in their life are dealing with a major stressor, so much easier to achieve. TOGETHER, we are making a stronger, healthier community!
